In Obama's speech today he said:
There are those who offer up easy answers. They will assert that Iraq is George Bush's war, it's all his fault. Or that Iraq was botched by the arrogance and incompetence of Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney. Or that we would have gotten Iraq right if we went in with more troops, or if we had a different proconsul instead of Paul Bremer, or if only there were a stronger Iraqi Prime Minister. These are the easy answers. And like most easy answers, they are partially true. But they don't tell the whole truth, because they overlook a harder and more fundamental truth. The hard truth is that the war in Iraq is not about a catalog of many mistakes - it is about one big mistake. The war in Iraq should never have been fought.
He goes on to say:
There is a choice that has emerged in this campaign, one that the American people need to understand. They should ask themselves: who got the single most important foreign policy decision since the end of the Cold War right, and who got it wrong.
The Obama for America campaign reached both goals for the third quarter slightly after 3 am eastern. His campaign now has over 350,000 unique donors who have made over 500,000 donations.
Following the first quarter Obama for America reached just over 100,000 donors.
Following the second quarter Obama for America reached just over 250,000 donors and 350,000 donations.
This quarter he will have have managed to recruit another 100,000 donors and 150,000 donations.
Everyone, I ask that you support Governor Warner's bid for the U.S. Senate. The fundraising appeal his campaign sent out today is after the jump.
Props to The Gray Havens of RaisingKaine for this one.
Article 1, Section 9 of the U.S. Constitution states:
No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state.
Since Rudy Giuliani is in fact a Knight of the British Empire he cannot without the consent of Congress become president.
An interesting thing has happened recently. A Hillary Clinton group has overtaken the largest Barack Obama group. The Hillary group has about 422,000 members whereas the Barack Obama group is falling behind at about 359,000 members.
The biggest exchange in the AFL-CIO forum tonight was the Obama-Dodd-Obama-Clinton-Dodd-Obama exchange. If you haven't seen this exchange it is available here: http://www.breitbart.tv/?p=4067. It really came out quite well for Senator Obama. He defended his judgement on foreign policy.
The other important part of this exchange is when Clinton said something along the lines of, Don't tell the American people everything... there are some things which they don't get to hear. Obama responded with something along the lines of, Sorry, I think they get to hear everything.
This is a satire chain letter which I received via e-mail. I do not know who the author is and thus cannot give it attribution. I hope that you all enjoy it as much as I did.
The Obama for America campaign is launching a letter to the editor campaign. It will have no positive impact for the campaign... and that is a good thing. Follow the jump to find out why...
